Artecology CoCreate™

Welcome to Artecology CoCreate, the world’s first eco-engineering methodology to authentically involve the public in the design and manufacture of ‘regulation ready’ Nature Inclusive Design technology.

Already proven on multiple coastal infrastructure projects across the UK, Artecology CoCreate brings schools, communities, and specialists together to make bioreceptive artefacts that become part of our award-winning concrete products such as Vertipools, HivePools, and Refugia Tiles. See- MMO Plan Policy assessment

Using high-fired grogged clay ceramics, Artecology CoCreate guides participants to make small artefacts with unparalleled structural random complexity (heterogeneity), perfect for supporting biodiversity and bio-abundance. Every stage is underpinned by rigorous science on the bioreceptivity of complex surfaces, ensuring ecological performance is never compromised and only ever amplified.

Our unique hands-on engagement activity also delivers benefits for human health and wellbeing. The process aligns closely with the NHS’s 5 Steps to Mental Wellbeing encouraging people to connect, be active, keep learning, give to others, and take notice. By involving communities in creative, hands-on habitat making, CoCreate fosters social connection, shared purpose, and a sense of achievement, while also strengthening links with the natural world.

Artecology CoCreate is about making the highest quality and most ecologically functional retro-fit products currently on the civil engineering market, and it’s also about delivering complex intentional habitats tuned to support lifecycle resources whilst inviting communities to be part of local wildlife conservation and regeneration efforts. The methodology is driving practical innovation in community resilience and scalable production, proving that it’s possible to deliver at scale without losing quality or ecological integrity. It’s production en masse, not mass production.

The Artecology CoCreate method also opens up a wide range of funding opportunities, from innovation and arts funding to community and interdisciplinary project support, creating new pathways to deliver ecological and social impact at the same time.

Join us in transforming public spaces and inspiring the next generation of eco-creators, because the power to make a difference is literally in our hands.
